Charles Center Honors Fellowships support the intellectual community at William & Mary through contributions to undergraduate research projects like the ones listed below. Each student on this page has been approved to pursue Departmental Honors. These qualified students will conduct 10 full-time weeks of pre-Honors research this summer under the mentorship of their faculty advisor. Students will then expand on their Honors Fellowship by completing a two-semester, six-credit research project. Each Honors project culminates in a thesis and oral defense. Completing an Honors project can be one of the most academically rewarding experiences of a student's undergraduate career.
The Charles Center is able to fund 70+ Honors Fellowships each year because of the generous support of our donors. Students often forgo the opportunity to participate in undergraduate research for financial implications. W&M Honors Fellows are afforded the unique opportunity to focus fully on their research without the added stressor of not having a summer income. For that reason, we want to provide a glimpse into the types of student research projects we fund annually. We hope you take the time to explore the vast array of student projects and give what you can.
Each William & Mary Honors Fellowships donation supports the whole Charles Center Honors Fellowships Fund. Donations inspired by specific research projects are distributed by the Charles Center in a way that benefits that project and others.
