Where does my donation go?

You can designate your gift to any existing W&M fund, including student organizations with funds, student services such as health & wellness programs, the Tutor Zone, the Center for Inclusion Excellence, academic departments, scholarships, athletics or other initiatives. You can search for fund options on the giving form.

What are the benefits of giving?

In recognition of your support and commitment, every donor will receive an invitation to the “donor only” Senior Wine & Cheese event on Thursday, April 23 to celebrate your graduation. Donors who are members of the Sunken Garden Society will also receive a special philanthropy cord to wear at commencement.

What is the senior paver?

Every year, the graduating class aims to reach a class giving participation goal. The Class of 2026 has set a goal of 85%. At the end of the academic year,  our class giving percentage is engraved on our senior paver on the north side of the Sunken Garden. The paver is part of the Senior Walk, during which the senior class gathers at the Wren Building right before Commencement for a final walk together across campus. The Senior Walk is a celebration of friendship, shared experience and love for William & Mary. This walk was dedicated in 1994, the first year of William & Mary’s fourth century, in honor of those graduating students whose gifts empower their alma mater to ensure the university's future will be even brighter than its past. The class with the highest participation rate to date was the Class of 2025, at 84%.
