About

Response of Wetland Bird Populations to Neighboring Land Use Land Cover Change

Hometown: Charlottesville, Virginia

Department: Biology

Advisor: Matthias Leu

The impact of neighboring landscape change on species abundance in an unchanged target ecosystem is poorly understood. Insight into such potential spillover effects of land use land cover change could inform sustainable development choices. My honors thesis will quantify the potential relationships between national breeding bird population counts and land cover change data to defend my hypothesis that neighboring ecosystems affect each other's functioning and species abundance.

All William & Mary Honors Fellowships fundraising supports the Charles Center Honors Fellowships Fund. Direct support for individual undergraduate research projects is distributed by the Roy R. Charles Center for Academic Excellence
