Project Description:

Shakespeare's plays in which foodstuff is prominently mentioned and present throughout the play are analyzed to understand the symbolic significance of the food to the motivations of characters and the events that transpire. Attention may also be paid to the significance of food respective to the social climate of Shakespeare's England.
