My Honors Thesis will investigate the practice of cross-cultural medicine in Dakar, Senegal. In the aftermath of colonialism, doctors must take into account the cultural backgrounds of their patients in order to treat them effectively, while operating under the institutions created during colonialism. This research has important implications for developing effective and respectful global health treatments for diverse groups of patients.
