Title: 3D Prototyping Design of a Video Laryngoscope
Project Description:
Laryngoscope is a very common medical tool used on the ambulance. It is essential for examining the patients' throat or inserting tube through the throat. However, the doctor can not see the whole process clearly, and the success rate for operating laryngoscope is not satisfying, especially on the ambulance where the entire platform for operation is moving. Laryngoscopes with cameras are available on the market, but they are less useful than expected since their vision is limited (they were put into throat). The research aims to design a larynscope with camera that has a better vision and is equipped with machine learning to assist the user. Machine learning in this laryngoscope is expected to recognize the user of some typical tissues and indicate where the scope should placed. This will make the operating process of laryngoscope significantly easier, and it takes much less time to train a user.
