Whole of Government Center of Excellence

As the university's national security hub, WGC creates chances. We cultivate career-launching opportunities with the wider defense community, including U.S. European Command and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. We support student organizations and labs collaborating with NATO, Ambassadors and the broader defense community. We work tirelessly every day to break down barriers for entry into the national security world, and make sure that if a student has that golden opportunity, nothing stands in their way.

Notably, we are unique among American university centers because we were also created to serve the broader military and interagency through customized continuing education and other training opportunities. For students from the State Department, Intelligence Community, and more, we design seminars on such topics as "Governance in Conflict & Post-Conflict Environments" or "Environmental Resilience & Preparedness."

By the numbers, we have assisted more than 475 students with national security internships, awarded thousands of dollars in stipends to support these internships, taught hundreds of mid-career professionals in our special certificates and shepherded many new government and military relationships for the university.
