About

Anthropology invites students to explore what it means to be human, past and present. Through hands-on learning and systematic reflection, our students learn to analyze ethnographic, archaeological, osteological, and archival evidence, understand diverse perspectives, and connect individual experience to broader social patterns.

Your support helps William & Mary students learn by doing. Gifts fund fieldwork, hands-on research projects, and course enrichment that allow students to work closely with faculty and communities beyond campus. These experiences build skills in observation, analysis and collaboration that prepare students for future careers ranging from public service and health to education and business.

A gift to Anthropology strengthens opportunities for students to ask meaningful questions, conduct original research, and gain a deeper understanding of the world and their place within it.
