William & Mary was the first university in the United States to collect and promote the study of art. Today, our students carry that work forward with pride.
In Art & Art History, our students develop creativity, visual literacy and critical thinking through both studio practice and historical inquiry. Our courses challenge students to make, interpret and contextualize art while learning how visual culture shapes societies across time and place.
Your generosity directly supports student learning and creative growth. Contributions help provide materials and resources for studio courses, enhance research and classroom instruction and support exhibitions that allow students to share their work with the campus and community. Gifts also make it possible for students to learn from visiting artists and scholars and to engage more deeply in their own creative and scholarly pursuits.
By supporting Art & Art History, you help students refine their voices, strengthen their skills and prepare for lives enriched by creativity and critical inquiry.
